The 2017 RAM 1500 has arrived to the new model year with more of the power, capability, and comfort that drivers have come to expect from the truck. There are three great engine options and the eight-speed automatic transmission is paired with each engine. The new 2017 model of the 1500 has returned mostly unchanged, but the off-road-oriented Rebel trim will get new standard equipment, including an anti-spin differential, dual-zone climate control, and an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen. Every trim in the 1500 lineup has also gained a new 5-micron air filter in addition to other updates across the trim levels.
Under the 1500's Hood
If you have come to expect a harsh ride from your truck, you will be impressed with the RAM 1500. Ram has continuously worked hard to offer a comfortable ride even while performing tough hauling or towing jobs, and the 1500 will offer many great ways to customize the powertrain. There are three dynamic engines offered with the 1500. The first engine is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and it produces 269 lb-ft of torque and 305 horsepower. It is offered with two-wheel or four-wheel drive, and it has an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. The diesel engine is a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 which offers 240 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that can be equipped, and it will offer 410 lb-ft of torque and 395 horsepower.
Design of RAM 1500
The 1500 is available with a regular cab (two-door), Quad Cab (four-door), and a Crew Cab (extended four-door). There are ten available trim levels, many optional packages, and an incredible range of standalone features that can be equipped. The Tradesman is an excellent choice if you need a reliable truck at the job site, as it will equip a locking tailgate, a seven-pin wiring harness, a rear backlight, and a Class IV receiver hitch. Many of the trims will be available with the fantastic RamBox cargo management system, a sunroof, a rear defroster, chrome bed rails, and heated rear seats. If you want a luxury experience while at the worksite, choose the Laramie Longhorn. This model will add a wood interior trim, front/rear parking sensors, upgraded leather upholstery, and a wood-accented steering wheel. For the ultimate off-road experience, RAM offers their Rebel trim. This option will add Bilstein shock absorbers for the front and rear, 17-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, and a variety of rugged design elements.
What are the bed lengths available with the Crew Cab?
The Crew Cab is available with either a 5-foot 7-inch bed or a longer 6-foot 4-inch bed.

The RAM 1500 is offered with a number of helpful driver assistance features, ensuring a more safe and secure drive no matter where you go. The standard equipment list will include stability control, trailer-sway control, and hill start assist. The truck will also have full-length side curtain airbags, front-seat side airbags, and four-wheel antilock disc brakes. The available options can include a rearview camera, an integrated trailer-brake controller, and parking sensors for the front and rear. The available Uconnect Access system will have stolen vehicle tracking and other emergency features.
