Pre-Owned Used Jeep Wrangler at Dulles Motorcars of Leesburg for Leesburg, VA
The pre-owned Jeep Wrangler is the legendary rocky-surface conquerer you have been looking for, easily recognizable with its unique silhouette, slotted grille, and bumper tow hooks. The Jeep Wrangler is more compact with its two doors than the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited which (since 2007) has only had four doors. In World War II, Allied forces used the Jeep Wrangler to ferry personnel and munitions. Fast-forward to today, over 70 years later, and it is still being seen on beaches and backroads, mainly for recreational purposes. Also of note, there are fog-lights, a remote start, heated seats, and rainy weather floor mats contained within the new Cold Weather package for 2017. Let's explore this experienced back-country traveler by reading more about the engine and overall design below!
Under the Wrangler's Hood
Standard on the Wrangler are both low- and high-range gearing, plus, it has a 4-wheel drive version. Up through 2011, there was a 4-speed transmission and separate engine. For 2012 and up, the engine supplying power is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 285 horsepower with 260 lb-ft of torque. On the Wrangler, an accessible 5-speed automatic an option, and a 6-speed manual transmission is possible too. The Rubicon model enlists the use of a veteran transfer case with a low crawl ratio and short gearing. The Jeep Wrangler can be programmed into for specific gear ratios, a great (and popular) off-roading capability! All of these functions, particularly the 4WD and disconnecting sway bars, are connected to the internal instrument panel in terms of informational readouts.
Design of Jeep Wrangler
The Wrangler appears with 4 main trims- the Sport S, Sahara, Sport, and the Rubicon. All Jeep Wranglers have the desirable quality to be either a soft top or a hardtop (black for hardtops, body-color otherwise). There are variants that can be located that are founded on those central models. The Sahara model has typically been seen with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, the Power Convenience Group, 18-inch alloy wheels, hood insulation for less noise, AC, foglights, and nearly to all items within the Sport model. The Rubicon model has a lot of features in common as well, then adds on 17-inch alloy wheels, rock-rails, custom tires, a heavy-duty Dana 44 axle on both axles, a disconnecting front sway bar underneath, and more. Also, on the inside, premium materials make up the cabin, plus a satellite radio, AC, a leather-wrapped steering wheel/shift knob set, and an electrical outlet.

All Wrangler models are built standard with multi-stage driver and front passenger airbags, Hill-start Assist, electronic stability control with a hydraulic assist brake booster, anti-lock brakes, traction control, and to mitigate theft there is a 'Sentry Key' engine immobilizer. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety stated that a Wrangler, in the moderate-overlap front-impact test, earned its best rating of 'Good'. Front-side airbags are available for any model above the Sport trim. This level of rating is great to see in a off-roading vehicle of any kind, and the Wrangler is ready for not only the wild outdoors but also the flat, dry paved roads we all use every day as well.
