What's new for the 2018 Dodge Challenger?

There are two big changes for the 2018 Dodge Challenger-two new models! The first, incredibly anticipated with thousands of fans even before its release, is the resurrected Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. This is an all-new, limited-edition version of the coupe. It's been redesigned for speed and sport, featuring a standard one-passenger configuration (with all extra seats available for only $1) and the most powerful engine of the lineup. The Demon is so powerful that it's been banned by the NHRA; the Demon also features some of the most advanced performance technologies such as Torque Reserve, TransBrake, an Air-Grabber induction system, SRT Power Chiller, and After-Run Chiller. Also new for the 2018 model year is the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody. The Widebody equips the fender flares found on the SRT Demon, adding 3.5 inches of width to its structure. This change makes the SRT Hellcat faster than ever, traveling a 1.7-mile track in 2 full seconds less than the traditional Hellcat despite containing the same engine. The 2018 SRT Hellcat Widebody also features standard electronic power steering, a new feature that gives the SRT Hellcat Widebody new selectable steering tuning for better grip, acceleration, and handling.

What models and features are available for the 2018 model year Dodge Challenger?

2018 brings 15 Challenger models to lots across the country. The lineup begins with the Challenger SXT which features all the basics such as automatic climate control, heated mirrors, 18-inch wheels, a 5-inch touchscreen, six speakers, Bluetooth, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. SXT Plus models are next, offering an 8.4-inch touchscreen, 20-inch wheels, heated and ventilated sports seats, a power-adjustable heated steering wheel, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, upgraded brakes, a rearview camera, leather upholstery, and foglights. R/T models build off the SXT by adding a new engine, the upgraded brakes of the SXT Plus, foglights, an active sport exhaust, and 20-inch wheels. The R/T Shaker follows with the R/T's equipment plus a Shaker hood with a cold air induction scoop, a sport steering wheel, black trim accents, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, a shorter rear-axle ratio, steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters, sport-tuned suspension, and a trip computer with performance reporting. There's also a T/A trim that builds on the R/T, adding Hellcat-esque styling, nearly all the features of the R/T Shaker, and a unique air intake that hides within a headlight. R/T Plus, R/T Shaker Plus, and T/A Plus models equip the features of their referenced trim, plus all those found on the SXT Plus. Next up is the R/T Scat Pack, adding to the R/T's features with the 8.4-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, HD and satellite radio, two USB ports, an Alpine audio system, a rearview camera with rear parking sensors, a sportier suspension tuning, a black decklid spoiler, and sport seats. Following the R/T Scat Pack is the T/A 392, which builds off of the R/T Scat Pack and equips all the features of the T/A. There's also the 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker, which builds on the R/T Scat Pack's features, adds all the features of the R/T Shaker, as well as a heated power-adjustable steering wheel. The SRT 392 is next, also building off the R/T Scat Pack, also equipping xenon headlights, adaptive suspension dampers, stronger Brembo brakes, an exclusive air intake, power-folding mirrors, heated and ventilated front seats, navigation, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, driving modes, and leather upholstery. Then there's the previously top-of-the-line SRT Hellcat, with unique styling, quad exhaust tips, a sportier suspension, automatic wipers, and automatic high beams. That's followed by the new SRT Hellcat Widebody and SRT Demon, respectively, both of which are described above.

How much horsepower does the 2018 Dodge Challenger have?

The 2018 Dodge Challenger offers a wide range of output figures based on engine option. The standard V6 engine found in the SXT and SXT Plus produces 305 horsepower. That's followed by a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with up to 375 horsepower. There's also a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 capable of powering the Challenger with 485 horsepower. There's the SRT-Hellcat-and-SRT-Hellcat-Widebody-exclusive 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 that cranks out 707 horsepower. The newest engine addition, the SRT Demon-exclusive 6.2-liter supercharged V8, can unleash up to 840 horsepower.
